Have you ever taken a personality test? I've done quite a few in my life, some at work and some on the internet, and I think they're fascinating. I even dig those little quizzes on HGTV about your design style. Maybe I just like psychoanalyzing myself. Either way, when Jenni linked to this personality test and asked everyone to write about their results, I was all over it. If you've taken the Myers-Briggs test, this one is similar. Maybe it IS the same? I can't remember.
Anyway, I'm INFJ: Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging.
I know those just sound like random words, but trust me, this thing was freaky accurate. There are some explanations of the results if you click through "self-awareness and personal growth" at the bottom, so I'll copy and paste some of them here and then give you the lowdown.
True and true. If somebody is cranky I tend to assume they're mad at me until I hear otherwise. Which is ridiculous. And don't get me started on how many petitions I sign or documentaries I watch. It's a lot.
Hello, I'm Paige and I do 900 things at once.
On. The. Money. Nobody ever believes that I'm an introvert. I will admit that I have some weirdly extroverted qualities, like not being afraid of public speaking and having a loud voice, but dude. Meeting new people is so awkward. And exhausting. Being around too many folks in general, even if I know them, can wear me out. I've always needed time to myself to regroup, and it wasn't until a few years ago when I took the Myers-Briggs that I realized why.
I am the unexpected introvert. I like people in general, but I'm picky about making true friends. I'm not shy, but I prefer to spend a lot of time alone. I will totally go with you to that party and whoop it up, but don't make me stay for seven hours.
This is why I love working from home so much and why I was never that happy at other jobs. I'm in my element when I'm by myself.
Are you going to take the test? I hope you do, and I hope you write about the results because now I'm REALLY curious to know what all of you get. Even if you don't plan to dedicate a whole post to it, feel free to drop a note in the comments with your category. (Hubsey took it, too, and is ENTJ. That E is for extrovert!)
